September's Athletes of the Month

LCHSABC & La Villa Roma September Athlete of the Month

The “Athlete of the Month” was established to recognize a member of each varsity team for representing themselves and their school in a positive manner.  Each winner will be announced at school and receive a gift card to La Villa Roma Restaurant and a t-shirt from the LCHS Athletic Booster Club.  Please take the time to stop by and thank La Villa Roma and the LCHSABC for their support of Raider athletics.

Competition Cheerleading – Kristin Gettier

Kristin is a captain on the Cheer team, and the definition of a leader. She is encouraging, supportive, and compassionate to her teammates needs. Not only is she these things and more, she is also an extremely hard worker on and off the cheer mat. She gives her all at practice and additionally attends out of school clinics to become the best she can be for her team. Her positive role has been instrumental to us thus far! Thank you, Kristin! – Coach Mancini

Boys' Cross Country – Sean Rombach

Sean recently broke the 17-minute mark, with a 16:56 at the Loudoun County Championships. He is the first athlete in 3 years to achieve this benchmark and be inducted into the exclusive LCHS “Sub 17 Club”! – Coach Campbell

Girls' Cross Country – Jenna Lierni

Jenna always impresses us with her hard work in practice and her willingness to RACE in a meet. She has knocked more than 2 minutes off her time from last year. – Coach Campbell

Field Hockey – Alyssa Markell

Alyssa is a dominating player that has helped her team with 3 assists and 1 goal this season so far. She is a work horse on the team and is always supporting her team on and off the field as best as she can. She prides herself with good sportsmanship. – Coach Darby and Coach Petrella

Varsity Football – Jake Wilson

Jake has been a leader on both sides of the football. He plays with great passion and is an excellent leader. – Coach Rayburn

Varsity Volleyball – Olivia Mallow

Olivia serves as the captain for the LCHS Volleyball team and has led the team on and off the court. The first month of the season is the most critical building the team, creating their identity, and forming a cohesive unit in competition. Without the strength of student-athlete leadership, the team will not succeed, let alone excel. Olivia is the epitome of compassionate and caring leadership while still driving her team and teammates to competitive excellence. She leads her team in a variety of statistical categories, but more importantly, she has focused on and significantly improved the areas of her game where she can best serve her team. She is an inspiration to both her teammates and her coaches. – Coach Senchak
