December's Athletes of the Month

LCHSABC & La Villa Roma December Athlete of the Month

The “Athlete of the Month” was established to recognize a member of each varsity team for representing themselves and their school in a positive manner.  Each winner will be announced at school and receive a gift card to La Villa Roma Restaurant and a t-shirt from the LCHS Athletic Booster Club.  Please take the time to stop by and thank La Villa Roma and the LCHSABC for their support of Raider athletics.




Boys Basketball – Jared Briscoe

Jared has proven himself to be an invaluable teammate and key member of the Boys Basketball team. His tireless efforts in practice and team first mindset has added tremendous value to the team and the program. His ability to fill several different roles on the team speak to his basketball skills, practice preparation and selfless attitude. He is a role model for all in this program and an outstanding representative of Loudoun County High School. Keep up the great work Jared! – Coach Alexander

Boys Swimming – Barrett Larson

Barrett has been a consistent contributor to the team, through the month of December. He has shown the depth and diversity to the team, by swimming all events, while earning praise from coaches and other athletes. We look forward to seeing how he finishes off the season for us. – Coach Gallo


Girls Basketball – Elayna Whitley

In the month of December, Elayna has helped the Lady Raiders with her team-first attitude and tremendous effort on the defensive end. She averaged 12.2 ppg and 6.0 rebounds per contest in the month of December. She always wants to continue to improve her game by working hard and competing in practice. – Coach Campbell


Girls Swimming – Jane Cassidy

Jane has been a consistent contributor for the team thus far. She has demonstrated the ability to lead and follow through the season. Jane’s work ethic and drive have been noticed by all, in her performances so far. – Coach Gallo


Winter Cheer – Amy Cox

Amy always shows up to practice and is always dedicated to learning and improving her skill. She is friendly and outgoing and will always ask me how my day is going and if it was a rough day she will always offer a hug. When I tell my girls to do something she is always making sure to get it done and follow my lead. I am so proud of how much she has improved and look forward to continuing coaching her in the upcoming seasons! Great Job Amy! – Coach Sprowles

Wrestling – Andrew Judd

Andrew finished the month of December with a 15-1 record and was crowned the LCPS Champion at 138lbs. Though his season also ended early in December, his performance has set the tone for the rest of the year for his teammates. – Coach Nagy
