The Swim Team tryouts will be held at Ida Lee the week of November 5th. The days we will be in the pool for tryouts, is Monday Nov. 5 at 9:30 pm, Tuesday Nov. 6 at 8:30 pm, and Thursday Nov. 8 at 9:30 pm. Us coaches would like the students to arrive at least 20 minutes early so that we can make sure all the paperwork is done and accounted for before the start of the tryouts.
We will be going over the event list, along with other information needed.
The Lady Raiders came away from the meet against the Vikings form Loudoun Valley with a 173 to 107 victory! The Lady Raiders were led by Lexie Vanderloo, who qualified for states in the the 100 Freestyle and regionals in the 50 Freestyle and the 200 Medley Relay with Jane Cassidy, Julia Houck and Kristen Chang. With a lot of fist time swimmers, the entire team stepped up and contributed to this victory. Overall it was a strong meet from Start to finish from the entire team! The next meet, is Saturday, Dec. 8 against Briar Woods HS at South Riding Aquatic Center at 5:00 pm.

The Lady Raiders had a very strong showing but suffered a defeat to the hands of the Falcons from Briar woods. In the defeat, the girl were able to dig deep and show what they were made of. Lexie Vanderloo had a strong performance qualifying for states in the 100 Butterfly, while winning the race, and finishing 2nd in the 100 Backstroke and Kristen Chang had a 2nd place finish in the 100 Breastroke. A lot of swimmers were able to get impressive time while not doing events that they are comfortable in. Overall it was a strong performance from the boys swim team!

This is a team building event, along with a team meeting
On Friday, the Lady Raiders swam strong, but came up short to the Wolverines from Woodgrove by a score of 104 to 183. During the meet, the Lady Raiders were able to finish top 2 in 6 of the 11 races, while continuing to drop times and impress everyone. Friday night, the Ladies were able to add 1 more qualifying times for the state meet in, Lexie Vanderloo (500 Freestyle) along with region cut times in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay (Allen, G, Chang, K, Vanderloo, L, Arroyo, B). The Lady Raiders coming along strong and are making progress towards the Conference, Region and State meet.
The Lady Raiders continued their strong swimming in the pool on Friday, December 21 at Ida Lee Recreation Center. The Lady Raiders defeated Millbrook High School by a score of 111 to 57 and Park View High School by a score of 135 to 33. During the meet, the Lady Raiders swept the relays events and won eight of the 11 events. Individual event winners include Mairenn Blest (200-yard Freestyle), Lexie Vanderloo (200-yard Individual Medley), Briana Arroyo (50-yard Freestyle), Josie Boyle (500-yard Freestyle), and Julia Houck (100-yard Breaststroke). As a whole, the Lady Raiders continued to achieve season-best times, personal-best times, and continued to make progress toward post-season competitions approaching in January and February. The Raider coaching staff is very pleased with the efforts on Friday night and hope the team will continue their momentum moving forward. The Lady Raiders return to the pool on Saturday, December 29 at 6:00 PM to take on the Rams of Riverside High School at Ida Lee Recreation Center.
This past Saturday, the boys suffered a defeat at the hands of Rams from Riverside. Lexie Vanderloo was able to come through big with a victory 100 & 200 Freestyle. Along with that swim, the rest of the boys team was able to step and provide strong swims throughout the entire meet. Us coaches were impressed with all the performances and the times that were swam, it was a good chance for a lot of the swimmers to get times in events. The Lady Raiders came away with a decisive victory, this past Saturday, against the Huskies of Tuscarora by a score of 218 to 61.The Ladies scored victories in 9 of the 11 events. All three relays won, along with Katelyn O'Dea (200 Freestyle), Nami Young (50 Freestyle), Lexie Vanderloo (100 Butterfly), Josie Boyle (500 Freestyle), Jane Cassidy (100 Backstroke), & Julia Houck (100 Breaststroke). Overall it was a very strong showing from the boys team, with a lot of best times and improvements. Our next meet is Saturday, January 12 at 3:00pm at Claude Moore.
This past Saturday, the raiders swim team finished 3rd overall at the conference meet. Both the boys and girls teams finished 4th place on their sides. In the meet, both boys and girls 200 Medley relays qualified for the state meet, along with Shane Hunter, Gavin Wagner, and Lexie Vanderloo in individual events. During the meet every swimmer swam competitive races, while dropping time and edging out other swimmers. Along with the state qualifiers Colby Koenig, Kristen Chang, Josie Boyle, Gretchen Allen, both boys and girls 200 freestyle relays, and both boys and girls 400 freestyle relays qualified for the region meet. Overall both teams preformed very well and represented LCHS with great sportsmanship and class. Our next meet will be Regionals, Friday February 8th at Claude Moore.

This past Friday, at Claude Moore, the LCHS Swim Team had a very strong showing at the Region 4C Championship meet. The boys were led by Shane Hunter, finishing 2nd in the 50 Freestyle, along with 3rd in the 500 Freestyle. On the Lady Raiders side, they were led by Lexie Vanderloo, who placed 2nd in the 200 Freestyle while placing 4th in the 100 Butterfly. All the swimmers provided great performances, while continuing to drop time. In the meet, Colby Koenig, Kristen Chang, and Gavin Wagner were able to solidify themselves in individual events for the state meet, beside Shane and Lexie. With all those great individual performances, the relay teams, 200 Medley (boys & girls), 200 Freestyle (boys), & 400 Freestyle (boys) were also able to advance to the state meet.
