LCHS Athletes of the Month


The “Athlete of the Month” recognizes a member of each varsity team for representing themselves, their team, and their school in a positive manner. Each winner will be announced at school & receive a gift card to La Villa Roma Restaurant & a t-shirt from the LCHS Athletic Booster Club.  Please take the time to stop by & thank La Villa Roma for their support of Raider athletics.


Softball – Taylor Yokum

Lead the team with a 519 batting average 7 doubles and a HR


Baseball – Joe Alexander

Joe has been solid on the mound. In two of his 3 starts on the year, he hasn't given up an earned run over 13.2 innings pitched. Against Martinsburg, Joe threw a complete game 3 hitter, picking up the victory on the road. In a tough District loss @ Loudoun Valley, Joe threw 6.2 innings, scattering 4 hits, without giving up an earned run, losing 3-2 to the Vikings. At the plate, Joe has a .344 batting average, with 6 rounds scored, all while batting lead off. While not on the mound or patrolling center field, Joe is the rock of our infield defense at 1st base. Girls’ Tennis – Ivy Ding

Ivy has shown exceptional focus and determination in improving her tennis game this season. She was placed in several key matches to help the team to victory. She has secured several wins this season for the team by working hard and trying her absolute best. I'm proud f her growth and commitment to the sport of tennis and her team this season. -Coach Mills


Boys’ Tennis – Luke McMullen

Luke is a great team player and has matured and become a role model for some of the younger players. He is playing great tennis and is currently #1 in our district at 11-0. Coach Brooks


Girls’ Track – Erin Messner

In the first 4 meets this athlete won 2 of them in the high jump and placed 2nd in the other 2. She cleared 5-04 which is the 3rd highest jump in school history. She has also helped the team doing the long jump, triple jump and both hurdles.– Coach Perkins


Boys’ Track – Derek McCandless

This athlete had a great month. He first broke the school record in the high jump clearing 6-06.5 and then at the next meet moved in to the top 10 all time in the triple jump. Coach Campbell


Boys’ Lacrosse –Ryan Duncan

. Ryan is leading the team with 42 points in 6 games so far this season. – Coach Radcliff


Girls’ Lacrosse – Logan Quinn

Logan has earned Athlete of the Month for LCHS Girls Lacrosse team not only for her actions during March, but also for her devoted leadership to her team over the summer, fall, and winter proceeding.  Logan has a consistently positive attitude and endless work ethic.  A captain both her junior and senior year, she leads with affirming words, but mainly through her action.  Her value to her team, both on the field and off, is priceless.  Logan embodies the competitive spirit, expert skills, and high ethical standards of a raider!  - Coach Leigh


Boys’ Soccer – Joseph Meija

Joseph has been a critical part to our team due to his is defensive work in the midfield. He comes up with big time tackles, slide tackles or deflections. This work allows us to begin another attack and takes pressure of the defensive line. He's a fun player to watch and we're all excited for him to end his high school career on a high note. – Coach Alvarado

Girls’ Soccer - Sydney Schnell

Sydney has stepped up in a big way during the beginning of her junior year. Each time Syd steps on the field, whether it be practice or a game, she is giving 100% effort, and it certainly is paying off for her! Sydney is, no doubt, a play-maker and takes control of the tempo of the game. Currently, she is leading the team in goals scored with 15 goals in 8 games.
